Seymour

The Owls faced off with Madison on Tuesday on the road. It took eight innings, but Seymour prevailed in a 13-10 win over the Cubs. Seymour went down 7-1 after two innings, but added three runs in the third, five in the fourth before tying the game at 10 in the seventh inning.

The Owls then poured on three runs in the 8th to secure their sixth win of the year. Seymour recorded 12 hits, led by Jack Pennington who had three knocks and three RBI’s. Brady Harpe also recorded three runs batted in. Gavin Leavy recorded two hits and two RBI’s.

Seymour will now prepare to face Jennings County on Friday at 6 p.m.

Brownstown Central

Brownstown hosted Borden in the ‘Battle of the Braves’ on Tuesday evening.

Brownstown would hold off Borden 9-8, after a four-run rally from the visiting Braves in the final inning, Brownstown’s Grant Killey walked off Borden with a single to score Kye Trueblood in the bottom of the seventh. The win was the third of the season for Brownstown Central.

Brownstown will travel to Trinity Lutheran for a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m.

Trinity Lutheran

The Cougars traveled down to Charlestown for a matchup with the Pirates on Tuesday. Trinity would drop the matchup with Charlestown 9-5. The Pirates took a 7-1 lead after the third inning, as the Cougars battled back with two runs in both the fourth and fifth inning to make it 7-5.

Charlestown pulled away with a run in the fifth and sixth.

Trinity will travel to Bedford on Thursday for a matchup with the Stars, which begins at 5:30 p.m. The Cougars are back home for a doubleheader with Brownstown Central on Saturday, starting at 10 a.m.

Crothersville

The Tigers faced the Christian Academy of Indiana on Tuesday night on the road. The Tigers fell to the Warriors 15-1, after the Christian Academy scored 9 runs in the opening inning.

The lone Tiger run came from Lucas Hilton, who scored after stealing third base and the fielder made an error, allowing Hilton to cross the plate.

Hilton also started the game on the mound, pitching 3.2 innings allowing three hits, 14 runs, three of them were earned. Errors were detrimental to the Tigers, who recorded 12 as a team. Both teams recorded four hits.

Crothersville will now prepare to face Edinburgh on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m.

Softball

Seymour

The Owls hosted New Albany in Seymour on Tuesday evening. The Owls held a 6-0 lead after the first inning, as New Albany crawled back into the game, tying it in the fourth at 6.

Zoe Williams mashed a three-run homer in the bottom of the inning to take a 9-6 lead. The home run would score Abby Followell and Phoebe Underwood. New Albany would not back down, as they scored two runs in the sixth and seventh inning to take the victory 10-9.

Seymour travels to Columbus East Thursday for a matchup with the Olympians beginning at 5:30 p.m. They then host Silver Creek on Friday at 5:30 p.m.

Trinity Lutheran

The Cougar softball team traveled to Henryville on Tuesday for a matchup with the Hornets. Trinity scored two runs to begin the game, but Henryville responded with five of their own in the bottom of the first.

Henryville added four more in the third, cruising to a 10-2 win over Trinity Lutheran. DeAnna Rothert singled in the first to score Zoey Dulaney and Olivia Cain.

The Cougars host South Ripley tomorrow at 5:30 p.m. Trinity will then host Southwestern this Saturday morning at 10 a.m.

The girls finished in third place with a team score of 53. The boys ended the day in fifth place with a score of 26. Ava Bloomenberg took a first place in the 400 with a time of 1:09.72.

Brownstown Central

The Braves competed against Brown County on Monday evening at Brownstown High School. Brown County would defeat Brownstown Central 4-1.

Anna Stogsdill of Brown County defeated Jenna Bolte, 6-0 and 6-0 in the number one singles matchup. In the second match, Anna Tipton defeated Avery Harrison of Brownstown, 6-0 and 6-0. The final singles match was won by Julie Burt of Brown County, who defeated Cambell Shasteen, 6-1 and 6-2.

In doubles action, Ava Kelly and Cady Kemp defeated Kaitlyn Williams and Bella Brown of Brownstown, 6-2 and 6-4. Audrey Scarlett and Genna Preston picked up the lone match win for the Braves against Atheena Doughty and Ashlynn Mercer, winning 6-2 and 1-0.

Brownstown travels to Scottsburg on Tuesday for a match at 5 p.m.

Trinity Lutheran

The Lady Cougars faced off with Jennings County in girls’ tennis on Tuesday evening. Trinity dropped all three of the singles matches, before winning both doubles matches in the 3-2 loss.

The team of Kiley Zabel and Carson Bowling won the No. 1 doubles contest, 6-1 amd 6-1. The second doubles match was won by Natalee Martinez and Emily Keller, winning 6-0 and 7-5.

Boys Golf

Trinity Lutheran

The Cougars faced off with Henryville on the golf course Tuesday, dropping the meet with the Hornets by ten strokes. Henryville won the meet with a score of 222, followed by Trinity who carded a 232 as a team.

Rylan Adair shot a 54, while Nolan Teipen scored a 57 in his nine holes of play. Wylie Jones recorded a score of 58, with Sam Lorenz scoring a 63. Trinity’s Jeremiah Clay rounded out the scores with a 71.

The team will travel to face the Christian Academy of Indiana on Monday, Apr. 22nd at 5:30 p.m. They travel to Edinburgh the following night for another match at 4:45 p.m.
