CROTHERSVILLE

With deep sadness and profound love, we announce the passing of Mark A. Bussey, a cherished soul who touched the lives of many with his warmth, kindness, and adventurous spirit. Mark, age 62, of Crothersville, Indiana, departed from this world on April 12, 2024, at his home, peacefully surrounded by the love of his family. Mark was born on July 27, 1961, in Seymour, Indiana, to Kenneth L. Bussey and Emma Louise (Heller) Bussey, who preceded him in death.

Growing up in Crothersville, he graduated from Crothersville High School in 1980, laying the foundation for a life filled with curiosity, exploration, and connection. Mark’s professional journey took him to distant corners of the world, from his time as a Truck Driver for JB Hunt to his tenure at Walmart Distribution and Lockheed Martin. It was during his tenure at Lockheed Martin that he got to traverse Europe, Ireland, England, Amsterdam, and Hawaii, collecting memories and treasures along the way. Mark was not just a traveler; he was a collector of experiences and a seeker of knowledge. Outside of work, Mark’s passions were as vast as his travels. An avid Indiana University Basketball fan, he cheered passionately for his team. He relished in uncovering his family’s history and cherished every piece of it like a precious gem. But perhaps what defined Mark most was his unwavering love for life and his infectious joy in sharing it with others. Mark was a friend for life, always ready for a road trip, a lively conversation, or simply basking in the presence of loved ones. His social nature and genuine interest in people made him a beloved figure in the community and beyond.

Left to cherish his memory are his brother and sister-in-law, Fredrick and Dana Bussey of Crothersville, Indiana; five nieces and nephews, Josh & Michelle Richman, April (John Watts) Williams, Jeremy & Lisa Richmond, Justin & Chastity Wooten, Paige & Ryan Gann; and a host of great nieces and nephews, Addison Richmond, Karmyn (George Garman) Williams, Keyan Fish, Savanna Kontrik, Ryder Rudzinski, Stevie Lynn Wooten, Emerson, Emmett, and Elliette Gann, all of whom were touched by his love and generosity. Though Mark’s physical presence may have departed, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

As we gather to honor his life, Pastor David Schill will conduct funeral services on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Adams Family Funeral Homes & Crematory in Crothersville, IN. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Thursday, April 18, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.
