Commissioners approve drug-free grant allocation

Jackson County Commissioners met for a regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday morning at the Jackson County Courthouse.

Lin Montgomery, public health coordinator for the Jackson County Health Department, spoke before the board on allocating grant funds to the formation of a Jackson County Drug-Free Council. Montgomery’s proposal was unanimously approved.

Additionally, the board apporved the resignation and replacement of Board of Zoning Appeals member John Hinton.

Hinton will be replaced by Kyle Broshears.

Jackson County Commissioners meet on the first and third Tuesday of every month at 9 a.m. at the Jackson County Courthouse.

Because of the upcoming primary election, the next meeting will be on May 8.
