The Medora Community School Corp. board of school trustees plans to meet for a special meeting at 5 p.m. Monday at the school, 82 S. George St., Medora.

The main item on the agenda is the final preliminary determination hearing for construction projects, which includes the replacement of all VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow System) and DOAS (Dedicated Outdoor Air System) rooftop units for the entire school. It will also include the replacement of VRF indoor units, branch kits and piping, VAV boxes with occupancy sensors, ducts to restrooms, returns, DDC controls, system balancing and demolition of existing units.

Additionally, a proposed roofing project will consist of the removal of old roofing and installation of a 20-year roof. This project covers the entire roof for the school with the exception of the metal sections and kitchen area.

“We will be doing a 20-year bond issue and we project that our total debt tax rate beginning in 2026 will be at or below 79 cents,” Superintendent Roger Bane said. “Since I have been here, our debt tax rate has been anywhere from 90 cents to $1.15.”

The Medora school board regularly meets on the second Monday of every month at the school.

Board meetings are open to the public and press.
