Trinity Lutheran’s tennis team won one and two singles and both doubles to defeat Madison 4-1 at home Tuesday afternoon.
Trinity’s Drew Hubbard defeated Sandra Moya 6-0, 6-3 at No. 1 singles to get the Cougars off to a good start. Presley Meyer filled in at No. 2 singles and defeated Claire Slygh 6-1, 1-6, 10-5.
Coach Jayme Lowe said, “Presley did a great job with her first time playing No. 2 singles. earning a win after split sets and a tie break. Drew Hubbard continues to succeed at No. 1 singles.”
Trinity’s Kylie Zabel and Carson Bowling teamed up at No. 1 doubles to top Michelle Laguna and Bridget Boles 6-3, 6-1, and Natalee Martinez and Emily Keller defeated Peighton Mundt and Oliver Scroggins at No. 2 doubles.
“Doubles are both working hard and working well together” Lowe said.
Allison Ward lost 6-2, 6-0 to Ruby Willoughby at No. 3 singles
“Allison, filling in at No. 3, played hard and got some great shots in,” Lowe said.
Trinity is 2-0 and will be home to Southwestern (Hanover) Thursday.
