Indiana All-American center Mackenzie Holmes and guard Sara Scalia, who joined Holmes as a first-team Big Ten Conference All-Star, will get to play one more college game.

Holmes, the 6-foot-3 native of Gorham, Maine, and Scalia, a 5-11 guard from Stillwater, Minnesota, have been chosen to play in the annual Women’s College All-Star game Saturday in Cleveland.

The event traditionally is held in conjunction with the Final Four. The game will be shown at 3:30 p.m. on ESPN2.

Holmes, IU’s all-time leading scorer, averaged 19.8 points per game for the Hoosiers during their 26-6 season that concluded in the Sweet 16.

Scalia, a transfer from the University of Minnesota, established a single-season three-point mark with 103.

Holmes and Scalia will actually play on opposing teams, Holmes on the squad coached by Nancy Lieberman and Scalia on the group coached by Cheryl Miller.

Lieberman and Miller are among the greatest women’s players of all-time and are enshrined in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.

Thursday night, Scalia, who averaged 16.3 points a game this season, won the women’s three-point-shooting contest held in Phoenix by making 56 shots in all and 19 in the final round to best Hayley Frank of Missouri.
