Police continue to investigate the death of a 26-year-old Kentucky man found dead last week along the East Fort White River west of Seymour.

An autopsy was conducted Tuesday on Morrissey R. McClain Jr. of Louisville to determine the cause of death and no evidence has been found to suggest he died of foul play at this time, according to a news release from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department. The autopsy was conducted in Seymour by Dr. Max Rollins with Saguaro Forensic Consulting Firm LLC.

The sheriff’s department received a call at 7:11 p.m. Thursday from an individual who had located the male in a wooded area near the Bell Ford Bridge off State Road 258.

The investigation is ongoing pending autopsy results and toxicology reports, police reported.
