Brownstown Central

The Lady Braves kicked off the week with a softball matchup with Bedford North Lawrence on Monday. Kinzee Dean walked off the Stars on a solo homer in the bottom of the seventh inning. Dean racked up three runs batted in for Brownstown Central.

The win gave Brownstown their first victory of the season. Kelsey Schneider got the win on the mound, pitching a complete game, allowing five runs and striking out 8 batters.

Schneider, Dean and Brooke Meahl all had multiple hits in the win.

Kendall Graves had a big day for Bedford, hitting three home runs in the game. She drove in four in the loss. The Lady Braves will now travel to Eastern (Pekin) for a matchup on Thursday, that contest begins at 5 p.m.

Seymour

The Owls defeated Madison on Tuesday by seven runs to improve to 2-2 on the 2023-24 season. Taylor Stuckwisch was dominant in the win, striking out 10 batters in her complete game shutout performance. She allowed just three hits in the outing.

Seymour racked up all seven runs in the first four innings, cruising to a 7-0 win. Stuckwisch recorded two hits and so did Abby Followell.

The Owls will look for their third win of the season when they host Hauser on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

Girls Tennis

Trinity Lutheran

The Cougars opened their girls’ tennis season on Monday against Austin. Trinity defeated the Eagles 3-2 to secure their first win of the 2023-24 year.

No. 3 Presley Meyer won her No. 3 singles match, 6-3 and 6-1. She was the only singles player to get a win for Trinity

The JV team defeated the Eagles 3-1. Trinity will host Madison next Tuesday on Apr. 9th at 5 p.m.

Cancellations

All athletic events were canceled on Tuesday evening.

Brownstown Rescheduled Events

The Brownstown home track meet versus Medora, Crothersville and Austin will now take place on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

Golf at Harrison Lake was moved to next Tuesday. JV Baseball vs. Salem will not be rescheduled. Girls tennis against Charlestown will be rescheduled, but there is not a date yet. Softball vs. Columbus East was moved to Apr. 12th

Other events will be announced when rescheduled.
