Norman Wettrick, 74, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on March 26, 2024.

He was born in Gadsden, Alabama on June 2, 1949 to the late Norma Bode, and lived most of his life in Seymour. Norman proudly served his country in the United States Army beginning in July, 1971, working in combat missile systems and electrical testing. He was honorably discharged in 1975. Norman then went on to work at Cummins, retiring in 1982. He continued his career at NTN, retiring a second time in 2007.

Norman enjoyed carpentry, any Do-It-Yourself projects, mechanic work, teaching others how to live more self-sufficiently, reading manuals to become more self-taught in all things, and most of all, spending time with loved ones.

Some of his proudest moments include adopting his daughter, Ann, and being involved in the lives of his grandchildren, Whitney and Amanda.

Norman is survived by his daughter, Ann (Danny) Sebastian; granddaughters, Whitney (Jared) Scott and Amanda (Chris) Pratt; great grandchildren, Hali Burton, Joshalyn Luenebrink, Corban Scott, Adelyn Moss, Faith Scott, and Caden Pratt; brother, Mike (Susan) Wright; sisters in law, Nola (Jon) Bishop and Vicky (Dale) DeBurger; brother in law Donnie (Debbie) Able; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 46 years, Barbara Wettrick; his mother, Norma Bode; brother, Orville Wright; and brothers in law, Calvin D. Able and Steve Boling.

Funeral services for Norman will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Voss and Sons Funeral Services, 316 North Chestnut Street, Seymour. Pastor Curtis White, Austin Christian Church, will officiate. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial with military honors will immediately follow at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Schneck Medical Center Hospice.
