Legal Aid is holding a Free Legal Aid Phone Clinic on April 9 for residents in Jackson county and other neighboring districts including Batholomew, Brown, Decatur, Jennings, Johnson, Rush, and Shelby county.

To be eligible for these services, register on the day of the clinic between noon and 2 p.m. by calling 812-378-0358. An attorney will return the call between 3 and 5:30 p.m.

In The Legal Aid Clinic’s goal of creating equal access for all, these clinics offers opportunities for low-income individuals to receive legal advice and assistance. Some of these services include help with family law, guardianships and small estates, but they cannot assist with any criminal law questions such as eviction and damages hearings.
