Seymour sets Kindergarten round up

Seymour Community Schools are asking parents to furnish information about their child or children who will be eligible for kindergarten for the 2024-2025 school year as the enrollment process gets underway.

The first session will be April 2 from 8:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. at Seymour-Redding Elementary School; 8:15 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Emerson Elementary School and 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. at Seymour-Jackson Elementary School.

A second session will be April 11 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. at Cortland Elementary School and 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. at Margaret R. Brown Elementary School.

Information needed includes the child’s name, birth date, address, name of parents or guardians and telephone numbers. Children need to be five years old on or before Aug. 1 to enter kindergarten.

Parents or guardians will need to bring their child, birth certificate, proof of residency and shot records when they report for the enrollment process.

Kindergarteners enrolling at Redding, Emerson and Cortland elementary schools must contact the school for an appointment. Contact numbers are as follows: Redding at 812-522-5621, Emerson at 812-522-2596, Cortland at 812-522-7483.

Walk-ins are welcome at Jackson and Brown elementary schools, but parents who would like to contact those schools ahead of time may call Jackson at 812-522-5709 and Brown at 812-522-5539.
