Thomas Ray Bruner, age 80, a native of Jackson County, Indiana and a resident of Norman, Indiana, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024 at Richard L. Rodenbush VA Medical Center. He was born on October 19, 1943 to the late Alex Bruner and the late Susie (Belcher) Bruner.

Thomas served his Country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a hard working man that always provided for his family. He lived a life full of life full of love and had a deep love for his family. Thomas lived in Indianapolis for several years and opened a bar called “Honkey Tonk Tavern” where he enjoyed playing darts and playing pool. He enjoyed watching races, was on a bowling team and enjoyed working on small engines. He enjoyed traveling with his first wife of over 33 years, Barbara Bruner and together they had their son, Gary. After his second marriage to Linda Bruner, they moved to the country where they had a lot of love and adopted Jayli, Jasmine and Jocelyn. Thomas was a dad, brother, grandfather and friend that you could count on if you needed him.

He is survived by his son, Gary Bruner and his wife Laura of Indianapolis, Indiana. Three daughters, Jayli Muns, Jasmine Muns, both of Brownstown Indiana and Jocelyn Muns of Seymour, Indiana. One sister, Rhonda Self of Seymour, Indiana.

Five grandchildren, Benjamin Bruner, Ginger Bruner, Jake Sizemore, Nick Sizemore and E. J. Sizemore.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and mother of his son, Barbara Bruner and his second wide, Linda Bruner. Two brothers, Bill Bruner and Ronnie Bruner and three sisters, Maybel England, Martha Bruner and Evelyn Wilson.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 24, 2024 from 10:00 AM until 12;30 PM at Christensen Family Funeral Home – Winklepleck Chapel in Brownstown, Indiana.

Graveside services will begin at 1:00 PM at Kurtz Cemetery in Norman, Indiana with Pastor Jim Hudson officiating. Full military honors will be conducted in honor of his service to our Country,
