The Jackson County Public Library board of trustees held its regular monthly meeting Monday at the Medora Library, 27 Main St.

Mary Reed, library administrator, gave a staff report for Brandon Joray, the library’s maintenance specialist. Reed also presented for board approval a revised 2024-25 capital projects plan, including a circulation pump for the Seymour HVAC and a down payment on a sprinter van to replace the 2008 Discovery Bus in 2024; a tracer update for the Seymour HVAC, sealing and striping at Seymour, Crothersville and Medora libraries and the balance on the sprinter van in 2025; and $70,000 for computers and related hardware at all locations in both this year and in 2025. Due to increased construction cost, a new concrete ramp, wall and floodgate in Medora was tabled to at least 2026.

The board approved a staff change and Julia Aker, library director, went over 2023 annual report figures.

The board’s next meeting is at 4:30 p.m. April 15 at the Seymour Library, 303 W. Second St.
