The Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Milestone Contractors is scheduled to reduce U.S. 50 to one lane just east of Seymour on or after Tuesday to complete  right-of-way clearing and utility relocation work in Jackson County.

Crews will reduce U.S. 50 to one lane between North County Road 1225E and North County Road 1250E and will utilize flagging operations to conduct the lane closure while work is in progress. Clearing and utility work is expected to be complete by early April, weather permitting.

This work is part of a $1.9 million contract awarded to Milestone in January 2024. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution and avoid distractions when traveling near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
