Nominations open for Chamber community awards

Nominations are being accepted for the Jackson County Chamber Community awards.

The categories are Spirit of the Chamber, Business Hall of Fame which includes awards for a small, a medium and a large business award and Young Professional of the Year.

The Spirit of the Chamber award recognizes someone who has demonstrated exemplary dedication to the community and inspires others by their volunteer commitment to the chamber and broader community. This leader is motivated by their desire to support the community and give freely of their time, talents and energy in local organization, festivals and special projects.

The Business Hall of Fame Award is presented to a business that has enhanced the economic health of the local economy through successful and profitable operation. The business should exhibit innovative leadership in the areas of workforce development, client relations and customer service in its industry and be a model of citizenship through its community service efforts.

The Young Professional of the Year award recognizes an individual who made a marked, positive impact on the community. This individual should exhibit outstanding citizenship and involvement in the community. This individual should be a high performing or high potential individual in their field of work.

Awards will be presented Sept. 12 during the chamber’s annual dinner
