SEYMOUR

Roger Allen Laraway, age 77, a recent resident of Cherokee Village, Arkansas but a longtime native of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at his residence. He was born on January 23, 1947, in Seymour, the son of Roscoe Nelson and Betty Ruth (Franklin) Laraway. Over the years, he held several jobs but most recently he was an Animal Control Officer for the Seymour Police Department for ten years. He would often attend Immanuel Lutheran Church and made sure to pray before every meal.

Roger enjoyed going to the American Legion where he could sing, dance, entertain people, and make everyone laugh. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and deer hunting. For the last ten years, he has been back and forth between his home in Arkansas and Seymour. Roger never met a stranger, nor did he ever say a bad word about anyone.

He is survived by his daughter, Vicki Laraway of Cincinnati, Ohio; his brothers: Rock Laraway and Ricky Laraway, both of Seymour; his “brother,” David Robbins and his wife, Charlene of Seymour; and many who called him “Uncle Roger.” He is preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 8 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Christensen Family Funeral Home – Seymour Chapel. Memorial services will begin at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. The family requests memorial donations be directed to the family to assist with final expenses.
