Trinity Lutheran

The Cougars opened sectional play with Shawe Memorial on Tuesday evening. The winner got the opportunity to face Medora on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Trinity would defeat the Hilltoppers 66-52 to advance to the semifinal against the Hornets.

Hudson Lang led the Cougars with 26 points, followed by Reed Mellencamp, who scored 14. Peyton Pollert scored 12, while Kowan Gross chipped in 6 for Trinity.

Gross also recorded 9 steals in the game, Lang had the other 5 in the 14 for Trinity. Mellencamp recorded 4 blocks as well for the Cougars.

The winner will face New Washington/Rising Sun in the final on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
