Raymond Kenneth Eakins Sr, a native of Mishawaka, Indiana and a resident of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Lutheran Community Home. He was the son of the late Everett Eakins and the late Olive (Patterson) Frick. He was attending Calvary Baptist Church and served his Country proudly in the United States Army. He was employed for over 25 years by Swift – Eckrich Foods, retiring in 1993 as a regional manager. Raymond was a strong willed man that was a hard worker and an excellent provider. He enjoyed golf and was an avid Notre Dame fan. Above all, he was a huge family man that made his family his world. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports and was their biggest fan.He is survived by his son, Raymond K. Eakins Jr and his wife Pam of Seymour, Indiana. One sister, Mary Cleveland and her husband Gary of Plymouth, Indiana, five grandchildren, Ryan Eakins and his wife Meredith, Reagan Eakins, Brooke Weaver and her husband Glen and Bradley Clark and his wife Holly, seven great grand children. One son in law, Randy Clark of Goshen, Indiana.He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 58 years, Dixie (Allison) Eakins, one daughter, Peggy Clark, five brothers, Charles Eakins, William Eakins, Ronald Eakins, Arthur Eakins and Everett Wallace. Three sisters, Mildred Aldrich, Marilyn Hull and Patty Daniel.The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Christensen Family Funeral Home – Seymour Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 7:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Dan DeFriece and Pastor Doug Heiman officiating.
