Mr. Roger Nolan of Seymour, Indiana passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024, in the arms of the Lord surrounded by his family after battling a 13 year illness.Born August 26, 1958, in Seymour, he was the son of Arvile Alva & Joy Delight (Boling) Nolan, both of whom preceded him in death.He married the love of his life, Elaine Jo Tuggle at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Seymour on February 23, 1979. They met each other on a blind date in high school.Roger was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Elks Lodge # 462 and the Society of Plastics Engineers.Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter Kirsten Lynn Nolan (Tony), twin grandchildren, Nolan James and Adalyn Rosemary Elizabeth, and sister, Peggy Ann Drees.He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 premature children, and a sister Diane (Manoocheir) Montamedi.Roger worked at Excel Tool for 20 years, then went on as product development manager for 14 years Ropak/Linpac/Norseman/Orbis through acquisitions. He retired in 2011. He traveled the world with his job and was a dedicated employee. He acquired 11 United Stated Patents and 11 Chinese Patents and has several patents pending.He graduated from Seymour High School in 1976, where he received a medal for not missing any school for 12 years. He was a 1976 member of the State water Polo Championship team. A lifeguard as well as a referee for Seymour Swimming. He taught many children to swim throughout the years.Roger had a remarkable mind for people, especially movie stars. He loved woodworking, coin collecting, fishing, golfing, oil painting, charcoal drawing, swimming, watching Bonanza, Perry Mason, and Gunsmoke. But most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday February 28, 2024, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Seymour with Pastor’s Andrew Currao and Zachary Huffman officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday February 27th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. The burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour.
