The Seymour Area Cruisers recently announced the organization’s 2024 scholarship application is now open.

This year the car club plans to award $1,000 to a student who intends on furthering their education in an area related to the automotive industry.

Applicants must be residents and attend or have attended a school in Jackson County or immediate surrounding counties. They also must have applied to or have been admitted to a trade or technical school.

Their area of study may include gasoline and/or diesel mechanic, automotive body design, automotive body shop, automotive electronics and other hands-on, automotive-related fields.

Applicants must be at least a high school senior with a minimum 1.70 (C-) cumulative GPA and must submit a short paragraph that includes their personal story sharing their plans in the automotive industry upon graduation.

Applications must be submitted to the organization’s scholarship committee by March 31.

For those chosen as a finalist, items including the scholarship application, high school and any post-secondary transcripts, a copy of an acceptance letter to a technical or trade school and a copy of a driver’s license or voter’s registration card must be returned to the club committee.
