Michael “Mike” W. Jent, age 65, of Deputy, IN, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2024, at Scott Memorial Health in Scottsburg, IN. He was born on October 28, 1958, in Seymour, IN, to his father, Willie Jent, and his wife Caroline who preceded him in death, his mother Hazel (Deaton) Prewitt and her husband Jake who preceded him in death. Mike was a devoted husband, having married Linda (Hoevener) Jent on May 21, 2014, in Seymour, IN. Throughout his life, Mike found purpose and joy as a truck driver, a profession he pursued with passion, working for various companies, most recently for The J.C. Grub. He cherished the open road and the freedom it offered. A proud member of the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF), Mike embodied the spirit of the outdoors. He found solace in nature, whether it was fishing, grilling, smoking meat, or tending to his garden. His love for the land extended to his small farm, where he nurtured various crops and animals. He also took pride in canning vegetables from his garden he was so proud of. Described as a true country boy at heart, Mike possessed an unwaveringly kind and generous spirit. He touched the lives of many with his warmth, positivity, and caring nature. His legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew him. Mike is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Jent; his children, Michaella (Bodi) Henry of Elizabethtown, IN, Misty (Danny) Watkins of North Fort Meyers, FL, Josh (Mable) Brown of Deputy, IN, Eli (Shelby) Brown of Medora, IN; 11 grandchildren; Brian (Jayna) Clouse, Payton Clouse, Maya (Bryan) Henry, Cole Rosfeld, Kain Rosfeld, Emmalee Henry, Madison Brown, Mentoria Brown, Rayleigh Brown, Eli J. Brown, June Brown; 3 great-grandchildren; Emorie, Mallorie, Waylon; siblings, Harold Jent of Seymour, IN, Lucy (Steve) Trapp of Seymour, IN, Sheree (Jeff) Duncan of Indianpolis, IN, Greg (Betty) Jent of Paris Crossing, IN. He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Jent, and his wife Caroline, his mother Hazel (Deaton) Prewitt and her husband Jake; siblings, Brenda Carothers, and Debbie Alexander; and mother-in-law, Melba Hoevener. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Adams Family Funeral Homes &Crematory Crothersville, officiated by Pastor Randy King. Burial will follow at Uniontown Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday, February 23, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home and from 10:00 AM until the time of the service on Saturday. Mike will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his love, laughter, and profound impact on those around him.
