VALLONIA

Thomas Richard March, age 67, a native of Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin and a resident of Vallonia, Indiana, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Schneck Medical Center. He was the son of the late Claude March and the late Betty (Schwanderlick) March. He was a 1974 graduate of Lakeland Union High School, a faithful member of The Tabernacle at Sandy Creek and a veteran of The United States Coast Guard.

Thomas will forever be remembered as a witty, quirky, loving, generous man that when he saw a need, he responded. He was philosophical and deep and enjoyed history, science and was a true “star gazer”. He also enjoyed camping, the outdoors and was a wealth of knowledge and wisdom. He was an excellent teacher and everything he would teach, he taught himself. He was a spontaneous traveler and was always ready to go on a new adventure. Thomas was a phenomenal cook and loved to experiment with food until it tasted the best. Above all else, nothing compared to the love he had for his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 45 years, Karen (Birchfield) March of Vallonia, Indiana, Two daughters, Amber Blevins and her husband Trent of Seymour, Indiana and Tabitha March Artigo of Seymour, Indiana. One foster son, Noah Romanini and his wife Meredith of Cloquet, MN.
