Crothersville

The Tigers hosted Lanesville on Tuesday night in Crothersville. The team was seeking their seventh win of the 2023-24 season against the 3-16 Eagles.

Crothersville trailed by four points after the first quarter. The Tigers trailed by 13 at the half before trailing 53-39 after three quarters of play. The boys fought till the end but fell to Lanesville 70-54.

Beau Napier led the Tigers with 23 points, hitting four shots from three. Tymir Cromwell also had a nice game offensively, adding 14 for Crothersville.

Crothersville’s JV team dropped the game with the Eagles 53-43. The Tigers will now face Trimble County (KY) on the road on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Seymour

The Owls have been on a roll this season, sitting at 16-4 as they faced Shelbyville on Tuesday.

The team was looking for its 17th win, something they haven’t done since 1991-92.

The Owls took a commanding 12-2 lead after the first quarter before holding a 19-11 advantage at halftime.

Seymour dominated the second half, opening up a 26-13 lead in the third quarter. The Owls held a 12-point advantage at the end of the third period.

Shelbyville went on a run to begin the fourth, cutting the lead to four points with 3:45 remaining, before Seymour responded with its own little run to make it a six-point game.

The Owls held onto win despite a comeback from Shelbyville, taking the victory 42-32.

Seymour will now face Silver Creek on Friday at 7:30 p.m to finish out their regular season.

Regional Diving

Cole Simmons and Machy Burton took on the Jasper Diving Regional on Tuesday evening. After advancing to the regional from the Floyd Central Sectional, Simmons finished in 16th with a score of 179.35. Burton ended in 20th with a score of 110.65.

Colin Kruer of New Albany took first place in the regional with a score of 511.25. Gavin Day of Columbus East finished second with a 478.45. Mitchell Mauck of Jasper rounded out the top three with a score of 463.35
