Cathleen Elizabeth (Abbott) Trueblood, age 94, a native of Ewing, Indiana and a resident of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at her residence. She was born on February 28, 1929 to the late Clarence Abbott and the late Caroline (Collingsworth) Rynerson. She was a 1947 graduate of Scottsburg High School and a longtime member of Whites Chapel Methodist Church. She was also a member of Eastern Star Chapter #134 Supreme, Order Of The Amaranth, Knights of Pythias – Brownstown Lodge #60 and Pythia Sisters – Brownstown Lucullus Temple #142.

Cathleen will forever be remembered as a loving, faithful, adventurous, caring, generous lady that loved life and lived it to the fullest. She enjoys mushroom hunting, attending hymn sings, attending her grandchildren’s activities, flowers and canning her own vegetables. Her family will forever treasure her yeast rolls, cinnamon rolls and persimmon pudding.

She is survived by one son, Paul Trueblood and his wife Candace of Seymour, Indiana, one daughter, Elizabeth D. Mace and her husband Timothy of Seymour, Indiana. One step daughter, Sandra Kay Hollin of Indianapolis, Indiana, step son in law, Jack Foist of Taylorsville, Indiana, one step sis in law, Cindy Trueblood and one sister, Caroline Righthouse of Seymour, Indiana. 15 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren. Also, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband of 18 years, Roy L. Wineinger and her second husband of 27 years, Robert P. Trueblood. Three sisters, Lillian Reed, Dorothy Righthouse and Esther Ann Earl. One brother, Thomas William Abbott, one step son, William Robert Trueblood and two step daughters, Loretta McFarren and Patricia Sue Foist. Grandchildren preceding her in death were Billy Mace, Jacob Brock and Savannah Boyd.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 12, 2024 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Christensen Family Funeral Home – Seymour Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM.

She will be laid to rest at Whites Chapel Cemetery at a later date.
