Jackson County Guardian ad Litem/Court Appointed Special Advocates is hosting its ninth annual mystery dinner theater Jan. 20 at The Pines Evergreen Room, 4097 N. U.S. 31, Seymour.

The you-solve-it mystery dinner theater “Murder on the Chattanooga Choo Choo” will feature a cast of local celebrities entertaining attendees as they try to solve the murder mystery to win the $250 first-place prize.

Tickets are $40 per person or corporate tables are available. Tickets may be purchased with cash, check or credit card at Jackson County GAL/CASA, 414 N. Chestnut St., Seymour, or by calling 812-569-2598. Tickets will not be available at the door.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. with dinner at 6:30 p.m. There also will be a silent auction throughout the evening, and a cash bar will be available.

Jackson County GAL/CASA is a nonprofit volunteer-powered program that provides advocacy to child victims of abuse and neglect to ensure they remain at the forefront of court proceedings and find a safe, permanent home as quickly as possible.

The organization currently has 25 volunteers and staff giving a voice to more than 70 children in Jackson County; however, the wait list continues to grow. If you have five to 10 hours per month to give an abused or neglected child a voice, you can become a CASA volunteer.

For information on the mystery dinner theater or becoming a CASA volunteer, contact Deena Personett at 812-569-2598 or email [email protected].
