EDINBURGH

Michael Odean Pruitt, age 41, a native of Seymour, Indiana and a resident of Edinburgh, Indiana, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023 at Franciscan Health Indianapolis. He was born on April 22, 1982 to Kevin Odean Pruitt of Freetown, Indiana and Pam (Fleetwood) Pearson of Edinburgh, Indiana. Michael was a Christian by faith, a graduate of Brownstown, High School and a 10 year employee of ECA in Edinburgh, Indiana. He will be remembered as a big hearted guy that would always respond to where the need was and help whoever he could. He was quite the comedian and always knew what to say to make people smile.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, arrowhead and mushroom hunting. The outdoors was his safe and happy place. Michael will forever be remembered as a hero, as a registered organ donor, he gave three people the gift of life for Christmas.

He is survived by his parents, stepmother, Kristy Pruitt of Seymour, Indiana, three sisters, Chasity Muns of Freetown, Indiana, Katie Tormoehlen and her husband Shane of Vallonia, Indiana and Ashley Pell and her husband Jim of Brazil, Indiana, and maternal grandfather, Harold Gene Fleetwood.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ervin O. Pruitt and Katherine (Isley) Pruitt, and maternal grandmother, Dorene (Fish) Fleetwood.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Christensen Family Funeral Home – Winklepleck Chapel in Brownstown, Indiana. Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jim Hudson officiating.

He will be laid to rest at Houston Cemetery following services.

The family requests that memorial donations be directed to Indiana Donor Network of Riley Children’s Hospital.
