SEYMOUR, INDIANA

William Lewis O’Mary, Jr., age 91, of Seymour, passed away at Columbus Regional Hospital on December 13, 2023. Bill was born March 2, 1932, in Jackson, Mississippi to William Lewis, Sr. and Ollie Mae Fowler O’Mary. He spent many years in Arlington, Texas, retiring from Thermo King as a Regional Sales Manager. While he lived in Arlington, he was a member of the Arlington Lions Club, where he was a past president and served as an elder at Grace Presbyterian Church. He was an avid golfer. He and his wife, Erma moved to Seymour, Indiana in October 2021 to be close to Erma’s family and he became a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Bill is preceded in death by his wife, of 56 years, Levearn Adair O’Mary, and two daughters, Marcia Williams and Malinda Miller. Surviving to cherish his memories are his wife, Erma O’Mary of Seymour, son, Bill O’Mary III of Albuquerque, New Mexico, seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Friends may visit with Bill’s family from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 605 S. Walnut Street, Seymour, Indiana. The funeral will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday with Rev. Ralph Blomenberg and Rev. James Rodriguez, Jr. officiating. A memorial service will be held at Grace Presbyterian Church in Arlington, Texas in early February, date and time to be announced later. A graveside service will take place in the spring in Memphis, Tennessee. The date and time will be announced after the new year. Memorials may be given in Bill’s memory to the Arlington Lions Club, the American Heart Assn or the American Lung Assn.
