Florence J. McNiece, age 86, of Indianapolis, passed away on December 12,2023 at Westminster Village North in Indianapolis.

Florence was born on May 2, 1937 in Jackson County, IN near Brownstown. She was the youngest child of Guy Whitcomb McNiece and Nellie White McNiece. Florence felt fortunate to have attended her first three years of school at Gallimore, a one-room school, prior to attending and graduating from Brownstown Consolidated High School as one of the valedictorians of her class of 1955.

She attended both Indiana University, IU at Bloomington and then IU Extension at Indianapolis. She was a life-long fan of IU basketball.

Florence retired from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Indianapolis after more than forty-three years of service. She was a loyal and dedicated employee of the FBI, and at the time of her death continued her membership in the Society of FBI Alumni. She received many letters and awards from the Directors of the FBI during her tenure.

Florence was a member of the Pleasant Grove Methodist Church until its closing in 1990. She was pianist of that church for forty years.

Following the death of her father in 1963, she was the caregiver of her mother who passed away in 1988.

Florence enjoyed several trips abroad especially to Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Florence was predeceased by her brothers Gerald W. McNiece, Richard James McNiece (as a very young child) and Donald W. McNiece and sisters Esther McNiece Rorig and Ruth McNiece Pardeick. She was the last living member of her generation of McNieces and Whites.

Florence is survived by five nephews, Joe Rorig (Carol) of Brownstown, William McNiece of Indianapolis, Gregg Pardieck of Seymour, Brad (Rhonda) Pardieck of Seymour, and Brent McNiece of Noblesville, IN, a niece, Sharma (Randy) Privett of Ocala, FL, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family will receive friends at Christensen Family Funeral Home -Winklepleck Chapel in Brownstown, IN from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2023. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel with Dr. J. Philip Klinger officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Fairview Cemetery in Brownstown.
