Bonnie Elizabeth Russell, 92, of Crothersville, IN, peacefully left this world at her home on December 6, 2023, at 4:13 AM. Born on August 15, 1931, in Crothersville, IN, Bonnie was the daughter of Clyde and Bessie (King) Edwards, both of whom preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Dale J. Russell on May 6, 1955. Together, they shared a life full of love until Dale’s passing. Bonnie’s life was characterized by her dedication to family and community. She began her working life at Dr. Bard’s office in Crothersville, IN, followed by a second job at the Shoe Factory in the same town. However, her most cherished roles were those of a full-time wife to a farmer and a homemaker for her family. She was a proud member of the Methodist faith and a graduate of Crothersville High School. Bonnie found joy in simple pleasures, tending to her vegetable garden, canning, and cooking. She had a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature, spending time watching hummingbirds and reading books, with a special fondness for her Bible. Bonnie’s love for her family was evident in her commitment to maintaining a neat and welcoming home. Being a devoted mother held paramount importance for her; throughout her life, she fervently prayed for the well-being of her family. Bonnie is survived by her children, Kevin (Lisa) Russell of Ellsworth, ME, Kimberly (Max) Wiesman of Crothersville, IN, Kyle (Jim) Brock of Crothersville, IN, 10 grandchildren Brandon Russell, Amy Goode, Kim Staples, Tiffany Corbett, Scott Wiesman, Kirk Nichols, Lauren Bruno, Jimmy Brock, Stacy Christie, Michael Brock, 20 great-grandchildren, and siblings Carl (Lil) Edwards of Crothersville, IN, and Ruth Ann Brooks of Delphi, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Bessie (King) Edwards and her beloved husband, Dale J. Russell. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Dave Colbert on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Noon, at Adams Family Funeral Homes &Crematory in Crothersville, IN. Following the service, Bonnie will be laid to rest at Russell Chapel Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects from 10:00 AM until Noon on the same day.
