Rodney E. Farrow, 75 of Seymour passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Columbus Regional Hospital. He was born October 8, 1948 in Princeton, Indiana to Eugene K. and Jean Rosalee Black Farrow and grew up in Seymour. He graduated from Seymour High School, Class of 1966 and received his BS Degree from Indiana State University in 1970. He then earned his JD from Indiana University Law Indianapolis in 1974. He married Charlene Lane on June 7, 1970.

Rodney began his career in law in 1974 in Seymour where he was affiliated with Haley and Farrow and Farrow and Thompson P.C.. He served as Jackson County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, Jackson County Attorney for 18 years, and Seymour City Attorney for 8 years. He retired in 2020.

He was a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, was past president of the Jackson County Bar Association, member of the Seymour Breakfast Kiwanis Club, Seymour Elks Club, Seymour Eagles Lodge and an Honorary Life Member of the Knights of Columbus, Monsignor Rawlinson Council 1252. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church where is served on the St. Ambrose Parish Council.

Rodney was very involved in the community, serving on several boards such as the Jackson County Juvenile Residents Board and the Seymour Museum Board. He was involved in starting the Jackson County Ambulance Service.

He is preceded in death by his parents and stepparents, Eugene and Mildred Farrow and Jean Rosalee and Jack Hill, his daughters, Jennifer Jill Farrow and Amy Leigh Farrow, his sister, Marsha Gay Farrow, his stepsister, Susan Hill McIntosh and his stepbrother, Stephen Kiel. Surviving to cherish Rodney’s memories are his wife, Charlene, his son, Jonathan Lane Farrow and his wife, Adrienne Graessle Farrow, his stepsister, Debra Hill Reinhart and many cousins.

Friends may visit with Rodney’s family from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Monday, December 4, 2023 at Burkholder Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, 419 N. Chestnut Street, Seymour, Indiana and one hour prior to the service at the church. The Rosary will be at 3:45 pm, Monday at Burkholder Chapel. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 325 S. Chestnut Street, Seymour, IN 47274 with Rev. Daniel Staublin Celebrating. Concluding services and interment will take place at Riverview Cemetery.
