Standing up for those who can’t

Thumbs up to the Seymour High School students who participated in the annual Riley Dance Marathon. The dance finished off a year of activities in which students at the school raised $24,005.95 that will go to Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis for research. Even though the students didn’t break 2022’s total of $30,002.55, the school has come a long way since $4,209 was raised in the inaugural year, 2014.

Feeding a need

Thumbs up to all of the organizations, businesses and individuals who provided free meals for those in need during the Thanksgiving holiday. The list includes Brownstown Church of Christ, which gave away Thanksgiving meal packages; Community Church of Brownstown and New Life Missionary Baptist Church in Brownstown, which provided free meals for all for the 15th year; and The Alley and First Baptist Church, both in Seymour, which teamed up to provide a traditional Thanksgiving meal. The Thirsty Sportsman in Crothersville and Side Track’d in Brownstown also provided free meals for those in need.
