SEYMOUR, INDIANA

Charles Edward Wheeler, 90 of Seymour passed away Saturday, October 28, 2023. He was born May 19, 1933 in Ripley County, Indiana to Charles Edward and Mary J. McEvoy Wheeler. He attended Napolean High School in Ripley County before serving in the US Army during the Korean War. He married Alberta Ahlbrand in 1969 and she preceded him in death. He worked at Reliance Electric over 30 years before retiring in 1998. He was a Christian and enjoyed going to church. He also farmed for many years and enjoyed his tractors, his friends and driving around. He will be remembered for being fun and enjoying life.

Eddie is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Alberta and brother, Donald McEvoy. Surviving to cherish his memories are his daughter, Farzina L. Wheeler Hardebeck (Mike Duncan), step-son, Mike Ahlbrand, step-daughter, Beverly Acton, sister, Nita May Phillippi, granddaughter, Tiea Callahan and great-grandchildren, Tayor and Ahna.

Friends may visit with Eddie’s family from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at Burkholder Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, 419 N. Chestnut Street, Seymour. The Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am Thursday, November 2, 2023 at the funeral home with Pastor Tim Carter officiating. Concluding services with military honors will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
