Helen Lucille (Taylor) Schleibaum, 99, passed away on October 14, 2023, at the Covered Bridge Health Campus. Helen was born on October 28, 1923, in Hayden, IN to Noah Henry and Ruth (Hulse) Taylor. She was a graduate of Hayden High School. After graduating from Hayden, Helen went to Cincinnati to study to become a beautician. Once she became a beautician, Helen worked in the Columbus and Shelbyville area. She also worked for a shoe factory in Seymour. On May 11, 1946, Helen married her beloved husband, Rolland. She was a devoted member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church. In her free time, Helen liked to knit, sew and take care of her flower beds.

Helen is survived by her children: Betty (John) Irwin, Karen (John) Schafer and Roger (Cathy) Schleibaum; brother, Robert Taylor; grandchildren: Eric (Samantha) Schleibaum, Tony Schleibaum, Cassie Brandt, Bill (Jamie) Brandt, April (Brian) Kern, Chad (Leah) Schafer, Charlene (Dave) Maddox, Victoria Irwin and Tamara Frazier; great grandchildren: Trinity Walters, Stephan Harris, Steven Harris, Hunter Brandt, Hope Brandt, Emma Schleibaum, Morgan Schleibaum, Brittie Clark, Austin Johnson, Jerard Frazier, Conner Schafer; great-great grandchildren: Olivia Clark, Ina Clark, and Kolson Frazier. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Rolland; brother, Everett Taylor, granddaughter, Cynthia Irwin and great-great grandchild, Dakota Johnson.

Helen’s life will be celebrated on Friday, October 20, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 605 S. Walnut St., Seymour with Rev. Dr. Ralph Blomenberg, Rev. Philip Bloch and Rev. James Rodriguez, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at Voss &Sons Funeral Service, 316 N. Chestnut St., Seymour and from 10:00 AM until the time-of-service Friday at the church. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Immanuel Lutheran Church or to the Hayden Historical Museum, Inc.
