Beverly Ann Baurle Davenport, 69, of Seymour, passed away on October 16th at her home surrounded by family, following a two-year bout with cancer. Known to family and friends as simply Bev, she was born on February 10, 1954 in Seymour to Authur L. Baurle and Helen Sage Baurle. She married Sam R. Davenport on September 13, 1980. She was a graduate of Seymour High School and Purdue University with a degree in Interior Residential Design. She was a member of New Lisbon Christian Church, Union City, Indiana, and attended First United Methodist Church, Seymour. She was a former residential interior designer for Greeman Furniture Store, and employed as a substitute teacher for Seymour Community Schools since 2005. In the community she was a member of Tri Kappa Sorority, a former Meals on Wheels volunteer, a former United Way campaign volunteer, and a former Girl’s Inc. volunteer and board member, and the house corporation board of Alpha Delta Pi, Indiana University. In her church she had served as a Sunday school teacher, VBS leader, youth group leader, church camp counselor, and deaconess. Bev is survived by her husband of 43 years, Sam, and twin daughters Michelle (Chad) Yadon of Sleepy Hollow, New York and Stephanie Davenport of Memphis, Tennessee, a brother Dennis Baurle (Kim) of Bloomington, a sister, Janet Beatty (Jim) of Seymour, a sister-in-law, Susan (Tommy) of Symsonia, Kentucky, a brother-in-law Tom Davenport (Kathy) of Flemingsburg, Kentucky; three nephews: Brett Baurle (Mary) of Jonesboro, Tennessee, Eric Baurle (Sarah) of Nashville, Tennessee, and Ben Beatty (Pam) of Seymour and 2 nieces, Rebecca Davenport of Florence, Kentucky, and Sarah Davenport of Flemingsburg, Kentucky; one great nephew, and two great nieces. Visitation will be held at Adams Family Funeral Homes &Crematory in Crothersville, IN from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, October 20, 2023. Family and friends may also visit from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 21, 2023. Services will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Adams Funeral Home, Crothersville, presided by the Rev. Teresa Poole, with a graveside committal service at the Crothersville Cemetery. In Lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made to Schneck Cancer Center, First United Methodist Church, Seymour, The Christian Church in Indiana (Disciples of Christ) Indianapolis or donor’s choice.
