Choral fest set for Oct. 28

The Columbus Indiana Children’s Choir will host the Hoosier Hills Choral Festival at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 28 at First Christian Church, 531 Fifth St., in downtown Columbus.

This choral festival celebrates the gathering of children’s choirs from Indiana and surrounding states, as children come together through music.

This festival features the Columbus Indiana Children’s Choir along with the Cincinnati Youth Choir, Greenwood Christian Academy Choir, Evansville Children’s Choir and Kentucky Youth Chorale. The performance will also include guest conductor Ruth Dwyer, director of education emerita of the Indianapolis Children’s Choir. The public performance on Oct. 28 does not require tickets for entry, but donations will be accepted during the freewill offering.

The local choir serves the children of the Columbus area through several choral programs.
