SEYMOUR, INDIANA
Daniel “Danny” L. White, 67, of Seymour, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, October 12, 2023. Danny was born on February 4, 1956, in Seymour, Ind.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda (Ritchie) White, his children: Aaron White (Jen) of Fishers, Ind., Josh White of Seymour, Ind., and Ashley Grizzle (Joe) of Seymour, Ind. Grandchildren: Emily, Kailey and Jaxon White, Carter Wiesman, Kevin Frazier and Alexandria Grizzle. Siblings: Sheila (Fletcher) Flieder of Cortez, Colorado, Carol (Larry) Couchman of North Vernon, Ind. and Debbie Johnson of Seymour, Ind.
He was preceded in death by son Eric White, parents William Cecil White and Phyllis Whitcomb (Don) Martin and brother-in-law Mike Johnson.
Danny graduated from Seymour High School in 1974 and attended trade school in Clarksville, Ind. He was a talented engineer by trade and worked in plastic fabrication at Star Container and Poly-Tainer, Inc. He retired in 2018. He was a member of many organizations including National Trappers Association (NTA) and the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF).
Danny’s family remember him as the definition of love and a man with a big heart. He was a generous person who loved to teach others his many skills.
His happy place was his cabin, Camp Sutsus, along the river. You would often find him there admiring nature, carving wood and spending time with family and friends. He was an avid gardener, hunter, trapper and fisherman. He sold many of his garden goods and works of art at the Seymour Farmer’s Market. Danny also enjoyed music and played the bass guitar with the Night Train Band, Redneck Rattle and Tator Band.
Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 – 6:00 pm on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Burkholder Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, 419 N. Chestnut Street, Seymour, Indiana and 10:00 am – 12:00 pm prior to the funeral service. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm Monday, October 16, 2023 at Burkholder Chapel. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
