Kenneth Ray Kiel, 90, of Offshore Drive passed away at his home on Monday, October 2, 2023. Kenny was born April 22, 1933 in Jonesville, Indiana to Walter and Alvina Voss Kiel. He married Carol Nolting on January 18, 1953. They were married for 65 years before her passing on June 2, 2018. After serving in the Army during the Korean War, Kenny returned to the family farm and spent his lifetime farming.

Kenny loved farming with his son and grandson and never fully retired. He was enjoying the harvest in his John Deere combine just days before he passed. Kenny and Carol enjoyed traveling together, often spending winters in Arizona. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Jonesville and served in various leadership capacities. He was known for his hard work and creativity, always finding a solution to any farming or life issue that he encountered. He was faithful, compassionate, forgiving and humble. He brought laughter and joy to those around him with his quick wit. Kenny was a beloved Dad, Papa and friend, and looked forward to reuniting with Carol, the love of his life.

The funeral will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday October 6 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Jonesville with Rev. Matthew Jung officiating. Friends and family are invited to visit from 9:30 until the time of service. Burial will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Jonesville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or Wheeler Mission.

Kenny is survived by his children: Beth Penn of Alabama, Mark (Tamara) Kiel and Jan (Jon Webb) Kiel, both of Columbus, Jean (Angela) Buchanan of Louisville, and Bradley Kiel of Greensburg; his grandchildren: Chad Kiel, Anne Marie Kiel, Warren Kiel, Gracie Webb, Kiel T. Webb, and Olvia Buchanan. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Carol, and 2 brothers, Lowell Kiel and Ronald Kiel.
