William “Nick” Dewitt Krieger III, age 72, a native of Bloomington, Illinois and a resident of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his beloved family. He was born on May 2, 1951 to the late William Dewitt Krieger II and the late Elsie (Tabor) Krieger. He was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church for over 40 years where he served as a trustee. He was also a member of the Columbus Area Rodders Car Club and an employee of the Seymour School System where he served for over 30 years as head of transportation and head of building, maintenance and grounds. Nick was a laid back, easy going man that loved to talk and work at his own pace. He was a “jack of all trades” and an excellent auto mechanic that loved restoring cars. He loved fishing and attending events for his grandchildren that he loved very much.

He is survived by his beloved wife of over 52 years, Carolyn (Delph) Krieger of Seymour, Indiana. One son, Eric Krieger and his wife Breighan of Seymour, Indiana and one daughter, Kristi Banister and her husband Wade of Seymour, Indiana. Three grandchildren, Nate Banister, Drew Banister and Maeleigh Banister. Brother in law, Randy Delph and his wife Darlene and sister in law, Cheryl Anderson and her husband Roy. Father in law, Walter Delph. Numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents. and one brother in law, Danny Delph and mother in law, Jean (Allen) Delph.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 5, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Christensen Family Funeral Home – Seymour Chapel. Visitation will resume on Friday October 6, 2023 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Trinity United Methodist Church with funeral services beginning at 11:00 AM. He will be laid to rest at Seymour City Cemetery.
