Robert Larry Lewis, 83, of Seymour, passed away Wednesday afternoon at home with his wife Pat by his side. Larry was born July 2, 1940, in Bicknell, IN to William Captola and Dorothy Morgan Lewis. He and Patricia (Osborne) Lewis were married on August 18, 1990.

Larry was a graduate of Bicknell High School in 1958. He later attended Vincennes University and Indiana State University, where he was a member of the 1959 football team.

He was a retired Field Sales Manager for Arvin Industries Automotive Division. He was also founder and President of KAR-KWIK Automotive from 1976-2001.

Larry was a long-time member of Rockford Community Church, serving in numerous positions throughout the years. He was a member of Jackson Masonic Lodge No. 146 F. &A.M. and Bayless Masonic Lodge No. 216, where he was a Past Master. He was a member of the Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine, and the Seymour York Rite. He was a graduate of the York Rite College, a Kentucky Colonel and Tennessee Squire. He was also a past advisor of the Lawrence County Industrial Training Center.

Larry was a woodworker and a car enthusiast; he was especially proud of the 1948 Chevy Pickup truck he rebuilt. Larry loved to dance and was known for his skill at the jitterbug. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s athletic events and band concerts. He also loved the outdoors and time spent at “the cabin” with family. He could always be found in the garage and was excited to teach his grandkids about building and working with your hands. Larry was a high school football and basketball officiant and an avid IU Hoosier fan. He enjoyed spending time with his many life-long friends and spoke with them often.

Larry will be missed by his wife, Pat; his children Tony Lewis, Stacy Lewis (Christie Moore), Leslie (Jerry) Ball, and Tim Jones; grandchildren, Cassie (Neil) Keshvani, Kirsten Davidson (Matt Gring), Aaron Ball, Sarah Ball, Silas Jones, Brahm Jones, Kade Jones, Tommy Moore, and Elena Moore; great-granddaughter Aahna Keshvani; brother Terry (Elenor) Lewis; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family members; his Rockford family; and his many friends.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Visitation is from 4:00-6:00 P.M. on Monday, at Rockford Community Church, 1934 N. Ewing Street, Seymour, IN. A Masonic Service will be presented after visitation at 6:00 P.M. by Jackson Masonic Lodge No. 146 F. &A.M. Visitation will also take place on Tuesday from 10:00-11:00 AM at the church. Pastor Dawn L. Barnes will officiate a memorial service to follow at 11:00 A.M.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, Larry asked that memorials be made to Rockford Community Church, 1934 N. Ewing Street, Seymour, IN 47274.
