Kelso Wessel



Kelso Lee Wessel, age 89, passed on September 16, 2023. At The Ohio State University, he taught Ag Econ for 27 years and was the Direct Marketing Extension Specialist before retirement in 1995. He travelled the world, teaching on all six inhabited continents and established a family farm in London, OH where he practiced what he taught.

Kelso is predeceased by his parents, Wilbert Henry, Sr. and Viola Steinkamp Wessel, brothers Kenneth Wessel, Wilbert “Jr. Wessel, Edward “Ed” Wessel, Debron “Deb” Wessel and Walter Wessel, sisters Rosa Nell Wessel and Violet “Sis” Wischmeier and sisters-in-law Eunice Wessel, Mary Lou Wessel, Bernice Wessel, Wilma Wessel, and Juanita Wessel.

He is survived by spouse Judy and two children: Bryce (Shelly) Wessel and Renee (Randy) Blankley along with four grandchildren: Samuel, Sophia, Maggie, and Luke, brothers Lelard “Lee”, Wessel, William, “Bill” Wessel, Ivan (Shirley) Wessel, and sisters Audra (Mike) Deaton and Opal (Ron) Roark and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The viewing will be Monday, September 25 from 4:00 – 7:00 at Eberle-Fisher Funeral Home in London, OH. Funeral services will be Tuesday September 26, at 11:00 AM at the London Presbyterian Church with additional viewing starting at 10:00.
