Seymour

The Owls traveled down to New Albany on Thursday to face off with the Bulldogs.

Seymour grabbed a win in a thrilling five-set victory. The girls won 20-25, 19-25, 27-25, 25-18, 15-10. The team roared back after being down two sets to secure the win.

The Owls improved to 14-14 on the season and will travel to Brownstown on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

The Tigers were back in action Thursday, traveling to Edinburgh to face the Lancers.

Edinburgh took the victory 25-18, 25-2, 25-20. Crothersville fell to 3-19 on the season. The team is preparing for senior night on Monday against Henryville, beginning at 6 p.m. at Crothersville High School.

Boys soccer

Seymour

The Owls traveled to Jennings County on Thursday for a matchup with the Panthers. The team shut out the opposition, winning 3-0 to improve to 7-5-1 and 3-2 in the Hoosier Hills Conference.

Martin Sebastian scored twice, and Myles Chandler scored the other goal for Seymour.

Boys tennis

Brownstown Central

The Braves hosted Southwestern (Hanover) on Thursday.

Unfortunately for the Braves, Southwestern came out with a 3-2 victory.

Braden Helton of Southwestern defeated Smith Hackman 6-3, 6-1. Brownstown took the other singles matches with wins from Pierson Wheeler and Lane Steward. Wheeler defeated Brady Cook 6-1, 6-3. Steward downed Max Joseph 6-1, 6-0.

In doubles action, the first team of Jamison Lewis and Braxton Lewis defeated Chase Brock and Evan Schneider, winning 6-1, 6-3. The Braves won the second matchup, led by Max Peters and Brady Davis, who defeated Taylor Wynn and Jeremiah Lois 6-1, 6-3.

The team fell to 10-6 on the season.

Seymour

The Owls faced off with Jennings County on Thursday, defeating the Panthers 3-2.

Seymour No. 1 Joe Schmidt fell to Parker Bates, 2-6, 6-7 (1-7). No. 2 Parker Thompson secured the win over Isaac Lightner, winning 6-1, 6-0. Carter Stein took the third singles match over Gavin Low, sweeping the match 6-0, 6-0.

Seymour split the doubles matches. In one doubles, Shun Takeuchi and Joel Stevens lost to Ryan Shuck and Ty Zarlauk 2-6, 2-6. Drew Handloser and Xavier DuBois downed Rider Riddick and Brady Schultz 6-4, 6-1.

The Owls are back in action tonight against Columbus East, hosting the Olympians at 4:45 p.m. Seymour will then face Columbus North on Monday before heading into sectional on Wednesday.

Missed games will be included in the next roundup.
