Bonnie G. Whitson, 85, of Seymour, IN passed away on Monday, September 11, 2023, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour. She was born on September 25, 1937, in Seymour, the daughter of J. Amos and Lillie Elizabeth (Hohnstreiter) Maschino. On October 15, 1955, Bonnie married Robert Whitson, Jr. and he preceded her in death on August 11, 1986.

Bonnie is survived by two sons, Wayne (Cathy) Whitson and Richard (Lisa) Whitson both of Seymour; four grandchildren, Melody Dunlap, Patrick (Kelley) Whitson, Susan Whitson, and Carla (Nathan) McKinney; eight great-grandchildren, Ethan, Wyatt, Dallas, Austin, Melia, Emery, Alex, and Owen. Bonnie is also survived by one brother, Ross (Dixie) Maschino, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her husband Robert Jr., Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Joey Maschino, Raymond Maschino, Orville Maschino, and Avis Maschino; and two sisters, Wanda Goble, and Roberta Hunter.

Bonnie was a graduate of Seymour High School. After graduating she went on to work as a secretary for Cummins Manufacturing in Seymour. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge #655 in Seymour and a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour. She enjoyed traveling all over the world especially to Germany, Hawaii and enjoyed cooking and baking especially her homemade pies and shopping. She was an avid Indiana University/Purdue basketball fan. Most of all Bonnie enjoyed spending her time with her family.

Funeral services for Bonnie will be held on Monday, September 18, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour with Rev. Dr. Ralph Blomenberg and Rev. James Rodriguez, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour.
