Boys tennis

Seymour

The Owls traveled to Edinburgh on Monday. The Owls dominated the Lancers 5-0.

Seymour No. 1 Parker Thompson defeated Austin Brockman 6-2, 6-0. Owls No. 2 Carter Stein downed Bailey Totten 6-1, 6-1. No. 3 Joel Stevens finished the job in the singles matches, winning over Braylon Lenkner 6-0, 6-0.

In the doubles matches, Joe Schmidt and Drew Handloser faced Jayson Music and Matthew Burton, defeating the Lancer duo 6-0, 6-1. In No. 2 doubles, Jacob Rennekamp and Bryce Peters defeated Braden Cop and Teddy Clawhorn, sweeping both sets 6-0.

The Owls will host Jennings County at 5 p.m. today.

Trinity Lutheran

The Cougars snagged a victory over Brown County on the road Monday night. The Cougars improved to 6-4 on the season with the win, grabbing victories in all three singles matches to secure the dub.

Trinity No. 1 Solomon Hall defeated Owen East 6-1, 6-4. No. 2 Jonathan Neawedde downed Jax Burt 6-1, 6-1. Nathan Finke swept the singles matches for the Cougars with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Brandon Saechao.

Trinity dropped both doubles matches. In the first one, Jon Kirchhofer and Jack Sichting defeated Drew Kerkhof and Luke Schepman 6-0, 6-0. In the second matchup, Sawyer Gore and Cord Smith of Brown County downed Evan Abbott and Brody Brown 6-2, 6-2.

The Cougars will be back in action today, hosting Brownstown Central at 4:30 p.m.

Volleyball

Seymour

The Owls traveled to Hauser to face the Jets on Monday night, defeating the opponent in four sets. Seymour won the match 20-25, 25-22, 25-22, 25-18, picking up its ninth win of the season.

Anna Fish led the team in assists with 16 on the night, and Journee Brown led the Owls in defensive digs with 12.

The team will be back in action on Thursday, hosting Southport at 7 p.m.

The Owls JV team dominated the Jets, winning 25-14, 25-9 to improve to 8-9 on the 2023 campaign. Seymour also hosts Southport on Thursday. This game will take place before varsity and is scheduled at 6 p.m.

Girls golf

Brownstown Central

It was senior night for the Braves on Monday, hosting Scottsburg at Hickory Hills Golf Club. The Braves took the meeting with a score of 185, while Scottsburg carded 213.

Brownstown was led by Gracie Reynolds, scoring 41 to earn medalist honors in the match. Abby Schroer carded 47, while Khloe Lingenfelter scored 48. Megan VonDielingen and Jayda Clodfelder both finished with 49 to round out the scoring.

The Braves will travel to Bedford North Lawrence on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
