SEYMOUR

Stephen Eugene Maxwell, age 76, a native of Muncie, Indiana and a resident of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on Friday, September 1, 2023 at Hosparus Inpatient care Center in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born on October 17, 1946 to the late Norman Maxwell and the late Betty (Fletcher) Green. He served his Country proudly in the United States Army.

Steve will forever be remembered as an honest, dependable, caring, generous, loving man that loved life. He enjoyed working on old cars, drag racing, flying model airplanes, softball, fishing, hunting and loved to dance. He loved animals, especially his Fred the cat and Pal the husky.

He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Campbell of Seymour, Indiana, one brother, Shane Maxwell of Muncie, Indiana, two sisters. Tammy Siloski and her husband Ron of Bonita Springs, Florida and Shelly Maxwell Olson and her husband Rich of Colorado. Four grandchildren, Ashley Phillips, Eric Sebastian, Brian Phillips and Matthew Allman. One great grandson, Clayton Phillips. He is also survived by his companion that loved him dearly, Linda Wheeler of Seymour, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 49 years, Kathy (King) Maxwell and one daughter, Jennifer Maxwell.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 11, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Christensen Family Funeral Home, Seymour Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 7:00 PM with Pastor Tyler Tolbert officiating. Services will conclude with full military honors. Memorial donations are requested to be directed to Red Sky Rescue.
