Stephen “Steve” Ray Hardesty, 74, of Seymour, passed away at his home on August 28, 2023. Steve was born on February 6, 1949, in Seymour to the late Wallace and Dolly (Williams) Hardesty. After graduating high school, Steve faithfully served our country in the United States Army, this is where he discovered a love of Cartography. Steve worked for Accu-Air Survey and LOBO Aerial Survey for a number of years before founding and opening his gun shop, Acme Sports, Inc. that he ran with his son until he retired in 2018. He loved being outdoors where he could be in the woods hunting or out fishing. He was a longtime member of the VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, and Moose Lodge 418. Most importantly, he loved his family and will be dearly missed by numerous family and friends. Steve is survived by his wife, Priscilla “Toni” (Ulrich) Hardesty, and their children, Joseph (Kim) Hardesty and Sarah (Delbert “Moose” Ross) Hardesty; grandchildren, Zoey Hardesty and Jayden Perkins; sisters, Becky Ames; Patty (Bob) Wieneke and brother, Larry (Lynn) Hardesty.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Voss &Sons Funeral and Cremation Services. The funeral ceremony will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, with a short visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the Seymour VFW Post 1925 and Seymour American Legion Post 89.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the Voss &Sons Funeral and Cremation Services of Seymour.
