Crothersville school board meets

The Crothersville Community School Corp. board of education met Aug. 14 at the central administration building.

The board approved the retirement of Rena Clem as a custodian effective Aug. 11. Superintendent Chrystal Street recognized her and thanked her for her 24 years of service to the corporation.

In another personnel matter, the board accepted the resignation of Marinda Deaton as the Sunshine Society sponsor effective immediately.

In other matters, the board heard a presentation by Jackson County United Way on the success of the Rock’n Ready school supply distribution program, Street updated the board about recent student and school success and happenings, board Vice President Tiffany Reynolds thanked C & B Electric for donating headphones to Crothersville Elementary School and the board thanked Street and the staff for a positive start to the school year.

The board also amended the agenda to remove the item regarding approving an energy savings provider.

The board’s next meeting is at 7 p.m. Sept. 11 at the central administration building, 201 S. Preston St., Crothersville. It’s open to the public and press.
