Seymour volleyball

The Owls competed at Columbus East on Tuesday and were unsuccessful in their efforts at grabbing a victory.

They lost a hard-fought battle with the Olympians in five sets. East won the first set 25-19, Seymour won the second and third sets 25-14, 25-22 and East took the next two 25-20, 15-10.

Journee Brown led the team in kills with 23. Emerson Johnson followed with 12, while Anna Fish recorded four.

Fish led the team in assists with 36, and Norah Campbell led in defensive digs with 13.

In serving, Abby Otte and Jamie Bobb led the way with three aces each, and Johnson had two.

The junior varsity team was successful in getting a win, defeating East 25-22, 22-25, 15-11. The Seymour freshman team also defeated East, winning 25-20, 8-25, 15-11.

Trinity Lutheran volleyball

The Cougars hosted Columbus North on Tuesday night.

The girls were successful in their efforts, winning the match 25-22, 25-20, 25-18.

Carson Bowling recorded 19 kills to lead Trinity, Madison Keith had eight and Ava Blomenberg had five.

Addie Darlage racked up five aces along with 31 assists, leading Trinity in both categories. Kiley Zabel had two aces, while Emerson Warren recorded one. Laura Roeder led the Cougars in digs with 12.

The win improves Trinity to 2-5 on the season. Tonight, the Cougars will host Franklin for C team, junior varsity and varsity matches beginning at 5:30 pm.
