Lowell Thomas “TJ” Jackson, 77, of Vallonia, died at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, August 13, 2023, at his home. He had been ill for 4 months.

TJ attended Brownstown High School and was a United States Army Veteran. He attended Brownstown Christian Church. He was a Barber and the proud owner of the original TJ’s Bar &Grill. TJ was the founder of JT’s Screen Printing and TJ’s Barbecue &Catering. He loved IU Basketball, showing horses, and watching NASCAR and was a huge Jeff Gordon fan. TJ was a proud commander of VFW Post 1925, a member of the Eagles, and American Legion Post 89.

He was born in Jackson County, IN on September 21, 1945, to the late Jim Jackson &Genevieve E. Kilpatrick Darrow. On July 2, 1988, in Medora, IN, he married Sheryl Ann Ballard, and she survives in Vallonia.

Survivors also include his children: Scott Thomas (Amy) Jackson of Seymour, Kaycee Jackson of Madison, IN, and Reece Dylan Jackson of Vallonia; grandchildren: Luke Thomas Jackson, Lainey Elizabeth Jackson, Maylee Sue Cardinal, Payton Thomas Whitsitt, Paxton Gauge Jackson, &Xayden Kenneth Jackson; brothers: Louis Edward Jackson, Howard Keith (Lana) Jackson, &Frank Wallace Jackson; sisters: Patricia Ann Roberts &Joan Elizabeth Briggs.

TJ was preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Jimmy Wible, Geroge Wible, Floyd Wible, Delores Wible, &Billy Dean Jackson.

Funeral services for TJ will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia with Mitchell McIntyre &Paul Rogers officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, August 15th from 4-8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Funeral Home. Following the service, military rites will be conducted. The burial will take place at Vallonia Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Jackson Family or Riley Children’s Hospital.
