Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Dave O’Mara Contractor Inc. plans to begin work in early August on a concrete pavement preservation project on U.S. 50 in Jennings County.

Starting on or after Aug. 7, restrictions will be in place on U.S. 50 between State Road 3 and the western roundabout at Old U.S. 50/Walnut Street.

The contractor will perform a partial depth joint repair and full-depth concrete patching in various phases. Traffic will be controlled by both temporary signals and flagging throughout the project area. Motorists should watch for stopped traffic while work is in progress.

The contract was awarded to Dave O’Mara in May and is expected to be complete by late October.

INDOT reminds drivers to consider worker safety by slowing down, using extra caution and avoiding distractions when traveling in and near construction zones. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
