NORTH VERNON

Sharon Lucille Carpenter, 71, of North Vernon, passed away at 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 18, 2023, at her home.

Born April 9, 1952, in Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Walter and JoAnn (Blankenship) Olds. She married Robert “Beau” Carpenter; he preceded her in death on April 3, 2014.

Sharon enjoyed fishing, knitting, keeping the road hot, traveling back and forth to Florida, and listening to music. What she enjoyed the most was spending time with her kids and going to her grandkids’ ball games.

She is survived by her children, Lee Ann (David) Bloom, Jr., Jason Messer, Amy (John Pahls) Messer; grandchildren, David Bloom III, Courtney Eaglin, Macy Hall, Nick Neal, and Tyler Bloom; great-grandchildren, Braylynn Smith, and David Bloom IV; sister, Susie Decker; brother, Kevin (Susan) Olds; sister-in-law, Becky Olds; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sister, Teri Ezzo; and brother, Buddy Olds.

The funeral service for Sharon will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at the Dove-Sharp &Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Tim Poer officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. A burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.

Memorials may be made in honor of Sharon through the funeral home to the American Cancer Society.
